Starting Over

What it really means to start over—geographically, emotionally, and within yourself.

02

Family & Belonging

Supporting children and partnerships through transition, and building community in unfamiliar places.

03

Identity & Reinvention

Navigating identity shifts, grief, growth, and reinvention: the inner landscape of change.

Why this show exists

Jess and Mindy launched this podcast to bridge the gap for global moving mamas, turning their shared relocation bonding into an essential resource for others. Their lived experiences taught them that relocating abroad changes more than your address—it changes your identity, relationships, routines, community, and understanding of home.

All Over the Map is a space for honest conversations about the emotional, logistical, funny, beautiful, and difficult realities of building a life in another country, and supporting a family while doing so.

Not visa, immigration, or employment advice—a space for women to share their journeys of recreating a life filled with meaning, new traditions, and becoming.

“When you uproot your life, you don’t just find a new place—you discover a new version of yourself.”

Mindy Schlechter

Mindy is a mother of two who has spent 23 years supporting women as an Ayurvedic counselor, coach, hypnotherapist, prenatal yoga instructor, and perinatal social worker.

She founded Effloresce Coaching to help mothers restore self-trust in their healing journeys, move beyond trauma and stigmatizing diagnoses, and reconnect with their intrinsic wholeness.

With her Austrian partner and their children, Mindy’s next chapter takes her from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Tyrol, Austria. She is cultivating a slower, nature-based, community-centered life—and holding space for other mothers reimagining home and belonging abroad.
